The Weekly Recap & Forecast
Every week the Rochester City Councilmembers and the Mayor receive communications that provide a snapshot of recent activity in the greater downtown Rochester area called On The Build that provides high level details about upcoming construction impacts and updates on projects. The updates are also posted below.
On the Build - Friday, May 1

Intersection improvements at 6th St SE and 3rd Ave SE are now complete. The new traffic signal is fully operational and updated pavement markings are in place to support future BAT lanes and Link bus service.

1 St SW from 16 Ave SW to 13 Ave SW will be closed to eastbound traffic allowing only a single lane westbound. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to W Center St. (5/4-5/11)
Link construction progresses on 2 St SW between 11 Ave SW and 14 Ave SW at the future Saint Marys Transit Center. Traffic between 11 Ave SW and 12 Ave SW, and 14 Ave SW and 16 Ave SW will be reduced. Traffic between 12 Ave SW and 14 Ave SW will be completely closed including the 13 Ave SW intersection.
Access to Aspen Suites drop-off will be maintained and required to exit towards east on 2 St SW.
Access to the Courtyard by Marriott will be maintained from 1 St SW.
General traffic will be detoured around the construction area and should follow the blue hospital "H" wayfinding signs to access the hospital from 14th Ave SW. Emergency vehicles will continue to have full access to the hospital from 2nd St SW.
3 St NW from 6 Ave NW to 7 Ave NW will be completely closed for work on RPU’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program. (5/6-5/11)
As a continuation of the current Link work happening at 2 St SE and Civic Center Dr SE, Civic Center Dr SE southbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane beginning on 5/6. The existing and new project extents will remain in place until 6/1. Pedestrian detours and access to the Rochester Public Library will remain the same.
Link work begins at additional downtown stops and will reduce 2 St SW eastbound traffic to a single lane from 3 Ave SW through Broadway Ave S where it will meet up with the impacts at the Rochester Public Library east of Broadway. (5/7-8/1)

W Center St from Broadway Ave to 1 Ave will be fully closed during work on the Center Street Parking Ramp. (5/11-5/29)
4 St NW from 6 Ave NW to 7 Ave NW will be completely closed for work on RPU’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
